Steve Jobs 1955 - 2011
Today is a sad day in the world of technology. Founder, Chairman and former CEO of Apple has passed away aged 56 after suffering from pancreatic cancer.
Jobs was renowned for being passionate about creating technology that would change the world. He wanted to make products that not only functioned brilliantly but looked stunning as well. Jobs did this time and time again, firstly with the iMac then the iPod and more recently the iPhone and iPad.
Samsung's BIG announcement (with Google)
Well Apple may have drawn the headlines yesterday, but today Samsung revealed that they're getting ready for a BIG announcement too. They've released this interesting teaser:
Titled "Unpacked" and due to be announced on the 10th November, Samsung are undoubtedly releasing, in partnership with Google, the new Nexus Prime. There's even a leaked shot of the device here for you to enjoy, showing one of it's flagship specifications; their 4.6" AMOLED 720p, 320ppi beauty of a screen.

Apple and the iPhone 4S
So once again an Apple announcement has come and gone. New CEO Tim Cook was on hand for the keynote this time round and there was no sign of Steve Jobs, but we do have some new hardware and software to chat about, so here goes…
iOS 5 & iCloud
These were both announced back in June at Apple's World Wide Developers Conference and we were given a brief recap of the features that we can expect to see once they both go live on October 12th. Such things as a notification centre, iMessage between iOS users (similar to Blackberry Messenger) a reminders centre and integrated Twitter support were discussed, nothing new to mention here...
iPhone 5 (Let's Talk iPhone)
It's been a while since we've found a moment to post as we've been incredibly busy pushing full steam ahead with Passbox, our new online application. It's coming very soon so watch this space! Anyway, we thought it might be worth briefly mentioning the imminent release of the next generation of iPhone which is due to be announced tomorrow (October 4th 2011) at 6pm BST. It's been long over due and we're eagerly awaiting what hardware will be released.

Apple’s flag ship desktop OS has a major revamp starting with the dropping of ‘Mac’ from ‘Mac OS X Lion’. There are over 250 new features and updates to Lion but Apple focused on 10 main ones.
